₦2.9 Trillion. $42 Billion. 2.3% of Global VC.The Gap Isn't a Capital Problem. It's an Underwriting Bottleneck.

Every institution with a genuine mandate to deploy capital toward women is quietly circling the same unresolved numbers. In Nigeria, it is a ₦2.9 trillion credit gap. Across Africa, the development finance gap sits at $42 billion. Globally, all-female founding teams receive just 2.3% of venture capital. Three numbers. Three entirely different capital systems: banking, development finance, and venture capital. Yet behind closed doors, risk committees across all three sectors offer the exact same explanation: they cannot find enough verified, de-risked, investment-ready women-led businesses to deploy the capital they already have. The market has spent a decade treating this as a capital shortage. It is not. It is an underwriting bottleneck. Zuri Circle Network (ZCN), founded by Linda Obi, former CEO of AfriHealth and Global Head of Strategy at Zenith Chain, has spent the past several cycles building precisely the infrastructure to clear it. The network now operates with over 1,400 verifi...

Nigerian brand PalmPay release threat and arrest warnings to media outlets over KudiWave reports

A new phase has emerged in the dispute involving PalmPay Limited and KudiWave Technologies Limited, with media organisations that reported developments in the matter said to have received messages from PalmPay warning of possible arrest and demanding the removal of published stories. The warnings followed media coverage of two major developments in the dispute. The first concerned the movement of N750,369,439.04 from KudiWave’s account by PalmPay. The second involved PalmPay’s reported position that KudiWave’s address and the ownership of the account were unknown, a claim KudiWave later challenged with documents and evidence of previous dealings between both companies. One of the major pieces of evidence presented by KudiWave was a PalmPay correspondence dated July 28, which expressly identified KudiWave Technologies Limited and Account No. 8889232516. In the same letter, PalmPay asked the Nigeria Police Force to transfer N750,369,439.04, which it described as standi...
