Aurum Digital Consulting Limited Launches MidlifeCare Africa, a Digital Menopause Support Platform for African Women

Aurum Digital Consulting Limited has launched MidlifeCare Africa, a digital platform designed to help African women better understand and document changes associated with perimenopause and menopause while preparing more effectively for conversations with healthcare professionals.

Aurum Digital Consulting Limited Launches MidlifeCare Africa, a Digital Menopause Support Platform for African Women

The platform gives women private digital tools to record health changes, organise relevant information and prepare questions ahead of medical appointments.

Aurum developed MidlifeCare Africa around a practical challenge many women face during midlife: changes may occur gradually over several weeks or months, yet it can be difficult to recall and clearly explain those experiences during a short clinical consultation.

“MidlifeCare Africa is designed to help women become better prepared for those conversations,” a spokesperson for Aurum Digital Consulting Limited said.

“The platform does not attempt to replace doctors or provide a diagnosis. Its purpose is to help women organise what they are experiencing, understand their own journey more clearly and arrive at healthcare appointments with better information and better questions.”

MidlifeCare Africa focuses on areas including symptom documentation, appointment preparation and access to practical information relating to midlife health.

The platform has also been designed with privacy in mind, allowing women to engage with the product privately and at their own pace.

According to Aurum, the decision to develop MidlifeCare Africa specifically for African women reflects the company’s wider product philosophy of identifying real problems within African markets and building practical digital products around those needs.

“Our approach is to begin with the user and the problem here in Africa, rather than simply importing a product concept and adapting it later,” the Aurum spokesperson said.

“MidlifeCare Africa was developed with that same thinking. We want African women to have a digital product that recognises their realities and supports them through an important stage of life.”

Perimenopause and menopause can affect women differently. Experiences may include changes in sleep, menstrual patterns, mood, concentration, energy levels, temperature regulation and general wellbeing.

MidlifeCare Africa therefore does not treat every woman’s experience as the same.

Instead, the platform is designed to help individual users record their own changes over time and identify the issues they may want to discuss with qualified healthcare professionals.

Aurum says the platform is deliberately positioned as an information and appointment-preparation product rather than a diagnostic service.

“Technology should support professional healthcare, not replace clinical judgement,” the spokesperson said.

“If a woman can walk into an appointment with a clearer record of what she has experienced, when it started and what she wants to discuss, then technology has already helped make that conversation more useful.”

MidlifeCare Africa forms part of Aurum Digital Consulting Limited’s growing portfolio of digital products developed from Nigeria for African and broader markets.

The company’s product-development approach centres on identifying specific everyday problems and creating focused digital tools to address them.

With MidlifeCare Africa, Aurum is applying that approach to an area of women’s health that has historically received less digital attention than areas such as fertility and pregnancy.

The company says the broader objective is to help more women approach midlife with better information, stronger preparation and greater confidence in the healthcare conversations that matter to them.

MidlifeCare Africa is an information and appointment-preparation platform and does not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

What Mintslate Media’s Job Seekers Teaches Us About Politeness, Power, And Survival At Work

Politeness is often praised as professionalism. But in many workplaces, it is also a form of control. Mintslate Media’s upcoming psychological horror film Job Seekers examines how politeness operates as an unspoken rule within professional systems, especially when power is uneven and opportunity is scarce. Rather than presenting the workplace as neutral, the film reveals how survival can depend on silence, compliance, and emotional restraint. Founded in February 2025 by filmmaker Seyi Oluwatimilehin, Mintslate Media was created to tell stories rooted in lived experience. Job Seekers, directed by Seyi Oluwatimilehin and Alan Vega, reflects that vision by centering its story on Maya, a young immigrant attending a job interview that could determine her right to stay. “One of the reasons I founded Mintslate Media was to tell stories that are real, stories that are relatable, honest, and true to our time and existence,” Seyi Oluwatimilehin says. “Every one of these films carries a piece of ...
