Conversations within Nigeria’s Web3 community have gained momentum following a meeting between Prophet Emmanuel Okeke, founder of the Giant Token Ecosystem, and Ugochukwu Aronu, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Xend Finance.

The meeting, which took place in Enugu, also featured Vindicated Chidi, Lead Ambassador of Asset Chain and founder of Shalom Token, who facilitated the introduction between the two founders.

The interaction drew attention after Prophet Okeke shared details of the meeting on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, where the post quickly circulated among members of Nigeria’s growing blockchain and cryptocurrency community.

Prophet Emmanuel Okeke is widely known as the Senior Pastor and Lead Set Man of Watchtower Prayer Network, a Christian ministry focused on prayer, spiritual growth and leadership development. Beyond ministry, he is also a technology entrepreneur and founder of the Giant Token Ecosystem, a blockchain initiative aimed at expanding access to decentralized financial infrastructure across Africa.

The ecosystem includes Giant Token (GTAN) and the recently introduced Giant Wallet, a Web3 digital wallet designed to simplify access to cryptocurrencies and decentralized finance tools for users in emerging markets.

Through the Giant Token Charity Foundation, Okeke has also positioned the project as a socially driven initiative focused on combining blockchain technology with charitable impact and financial empowerment within communities.

On the other side of the meeting was Ugochukwu Aronu, a Nigerian entrepreneur and software engineer known for his work in fintech and blockchain innovation.

Aronu is the founder of Xend Finance, a decentralized finance platform that initially launched as Africa’s first DeFi savings infrastructure, designed to help users in emerging markets access higher-yield financial opportunities and hedge against inflation.

Over time, the project has evolved into a broader ecosystem focused on real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, allowing assets such as real estate, agricultural yields, supply chain assets, and intellectual property to be digitized and accessed globally through blockchain technology.

Xend Finance has also developed Asset Chain, a public blockchain dedicated to real-world asset tokenization, alongside other infrastructure tools designed to bridge traditional finance and decentralized finance.

The platform has received backing from major global technology programs including Binance Labs and Google Launchpad, and has grown to serve more than 200,000 users.

Although no formal partnership has been announced following the meeting, the interaction between both founders has sparked conversations among members of the African Web3 community who believe that collaboration between emerging blockchain ecosystems could further strengthen innovation across the continent.

Observers note that the combination of Giant Token’s expanding ecosystem and Xend Finance’s experience in decentralized finance and asset tokenization highlights the growing influence of African-built blockchain infrastructure.

As blockchain adoption continues to expand across Africa, meetings between technology founders such as Okeke and Aronu are increasingly viewed as important signals of the continent’s growing role in shaping the future of decentralized financial systems.

For many within the ecosystem, the Enugu meeting represents another step in the ongoing evolution of Africa’s Web3 landscape.
