SOMALENS INTRODUCES AI POWERED GAMIFIED HEALTH EXPERIENCE TO HELP USERS BUILD BETTER EVERYDAY WELLNESS HABITS
The new AI powered update brings enhanced home screen, symptom check, medication reminders, health missions, daily check-ins, streaks, levels, SOMA Coins and personalized insights into one redesigned mobile experience.
Somalens, a digital health and wellness application, has launched a major product update designed to make everyday health management simpler, more engaging and easier to sustain.
The new experience combines daily health check-ins, personalized symptom insights and gamification features that encourage users to take small, consistent steps towards understanding and managing their wellbeing. Through health missions, streaks, levels and SOMA Coins, users can monitor their progress and receive recognition for completing positive health-related activities.
For many people, looking after their health can feel overwhelming. Healthy intentions are often disrupted by busy schedules, forgotten routines or the difficulty of staying motivated when progress is not immediately visible. Somalens is responding to this challenge by turning everyday wellness activities into a guided and rewarding experience.
At the centre of the update is a redesigned home experience that brings important wellness information and actions into one clear view. Users can complete daily check-ins covering areas such as mood, energy, pain and sleep, review personalised insights based on the information they record, and see the actions they can take next.
The update also introduces gamified health missions. These missions are designed to help users build consistency through manageable activities rather than drastic lifestyle changes. As users complete eligible activities, they can maintain health streaks, progress through levels and earn SOMA Coins. The coins and rewards experience gives users an additional sense of progress while encouraging continued participation in their wellness journey.
Joy Bachashe Samuel, Co-founder and Lead UX Designer at Somalens, said the update was shaped by a desire to make digital health tools feel more human, motivating and relevant to everyday life.
“Most people already know that their health deserves attention, but knowing what to do is not always enough to create a lasting habit. We wanted to design an experience that makes small health actions feel achievable and worth returning to. With the new Somalens update, users can check in with themselves, understand their patterns and see their consistency grow over time,” Samuel said.
“Gamification is not about making light of health. It is about using thoughtful design to help people remain engaged with positive routines. Every mission completed, streak maintained and insight reviewed can become a reminder that small actions matter.”
The redesigned experience reflects Somalens’ broader approach to digital wellness: giving people accessible tools that support greater awareness of their everyday health. Rather than waiting until something feels seriously wrong, users are encouraged to pay closer attention to changes in how they feel and to build a more consistent relationship with their wellbeing.
Somalens does not replace a doctor or provide a medical diagnosis. Its features are intended to support health awareness and everyday wellness management. Users should consult a qualified healthcare professional when they have symptoms, concerns or need medical advice.
The latest update is now available to everyone on IOS and Android. Existing users will be able to update the application through their app store, while new users can download Somalens and begin exploring the redesigned experience. With this launch, Somalens is taking another step towards making preventive, everyday health engagement more accessible, relatable and rewarding for users in Nigeria, Africa and beyond.
